Overview
The USC GIS Research Laboratory WebGIS site provides access to many of the services developed during the course of ongoing research in the lab. The services offered focus foremost on the production and accuracy of geographic data. Improving and explaining the underlying accuracy of one's data will lead to increased precision and confidence in the scientific conclusions drawn from them.

- Address Processing
Services for processing postal addresses including address parsing, normalization, standardization, and validation
- Geocoding
Services for turning postal addresses into geographic coordinates including parsed, non-parsed, and batch postal address database geocoding
- Geocode Correction
Services for correcting geographic coordinates
- Polygon Tracing
Services for drawing and storing geographic polygons using online maps and satellite imagery
- Shortest Path
Services for calculating the shortest path between two points including shortest network distance and shortest travel time
Usage fees and rules
Each of these services are provided free of charge to academic, non-profit, and governmental researchers and institutions. The source code for these services can be made available upon request. Please contact us for more information.
